Text Box: What happens during a Rock Solid Test Practice session?

Introduction: There will be a short introduction and discussion of how the test is structured and the types of questions on the test.
Practice Test: You will take a practice test under conditions as similar as possible to an actual administration. For “single-subject” sessions, you will take the Reading, Math, or Writing sections from an actual test.
Scoring Break: Students will get a short break while the practice tests are scored. Water and some healthy snacks will be available – students are encouraged to bring a lunch or money to buy lunch for Saturday sessions.
Test Debrief: We will go over any test question that anyone in the session answered incorrectly, skipped, or has a question or concern about.
Resource Summary: You will be introduced to the many resources available online and available in print at your HS counselor’s office or local library.

Rock Solid offers short sessions (2-3 hour) on weekday afternoons and evenings, and full-day authentic practice sessions on weekend days and school holidays.  The session types described below are offered at this time – other session types can be scheduled as requested.  Practice sessions are offered in Encinitas on Monday and Thursdays from 5:30 pm -8:30 pm. and on occasional Saturdays.  5-hour diagnostic sessions are occasionally offered on Saturdays and school holidays. See the calendar page for specific dates. Students can sign up for as many or as few sessions as they wish.

Many students prefer private one-on-one sessions, instead. These sessions can be arranged for afternoons, evenings, weekends, or school holidays. The general methodology is the same — but the practice test is usually taken by the student ahead of time and the tutoring session is spent going over the test, based on the student’s performance on individual questions. The cost of private tutoring sessions is $100/hour (only one-on-one time is charged) and each session is usually scheduled for 2-3 hours.
