Rock Solid was founded in 2007 as a practical and affordable alternative to high-priced, multi-session test preparation classes. I have been a standardized test developer for 20 years and have written test items for and developed high-stakes standardized tests for high school students as well as college graduates and teacher candidates. I’ve worked at Educational Testing Service, in Princeton, as well as with the American Institutes for Research, who develops many of the assessments used by individual states to fulfill NCLB requirements. I have also taught multiple-subjects at the middle-school, high-school, and college levels. I live in Carlsbad, California and my two sons have attended Carlsbad High School. My older son is currently attending the University of Pennsylvania and my younger son started at UCLA in the Fall of 2009. My own formal background is in science – I have degrees in Earth and Space Sciences from MIT and the State University of New York at Stony Brook. When not working on tests or test preparation, I enjoy hiking, dancing, and road trips with (or without!) my family.

 

At Rock Solid, I use my experience at writing and developing tests to give students a totally different perspective of the SAT, ACT, and other standardized tests.  Each student  receives individualized feedback based on the student’s personal strengths and weaknesses. Your student will learn to take the test the way someone who does it for a living would.
